Setting Up Authentication
Setting up and managing authentication methods is a crucial aspect of maintaining the security and usability of your Seamfix-IAM solution. Below are the steps and considerations for configuring and managing these methods:
Password-Based Authentication Setup
- Access the Authentication Settings: Navigate to the Settings > User management Settings section from the side navigation bar on the admin dashboard.
- Define Password Policies:
- On the Password Settings Tab, set requirements for password complexity, length, and expiration.
- On the Access Policy Tab configure account lockout policies after a specified number of failed login attempts, wait time after lockout and idle period.
Password Authentication: Password-based authentication is enabled as default and serves as the base authentication method for applications within Seamfix-IAM. This is seen on the Multi-factor Authentication tab
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Setup
- Access MFA Settings: Go to the MFA Authentication Tab under the Settings > User management Settings on the side nav.
- Select MFA Methods: Choose which MFA methods to enable (e.g.authenticator apps, biometrics: fingerprint and biometrics)

Single Sign-On (SSO) Setup
- Configure Identity Providers: Integrate your IAM solution with an Identity Provider (IdP) using SAML, OAuth, or OpenID Connect.
- Set Up SSO Applications:
- Add and configure applications that support SSO, ensuring they are linked to the correct IdP.
- Define login protocol within each application.
- Test SSO Configuration:
- Perform tests to ensure users can log in to all SSO-enabled applications seamlessly.
- Troubleshoot any SSO issues such as incorrect configurations or mismatched user attributes.
