Setting Up Authentication

Setting up and managing authentication methods is a crucial aspect of maintaining the security and usability of your Seamfix-IAM solution. Below are the steps and considerations for configuring and managing these methods:

Password-Based Authentication Setup

  1. Access the Authentication Settings: Navigate to the Settings > User management Settings section from the side navigation bar on the admin dashboard.
  2. Define Password Policies:
  • On the Password Settings Tab, set requirements for password complexity, length, and expiration.
  • On the Access Policy Tab configure account lockout policies after a specified number of failed login attempts, wait time after lockout and idle period.

Password Authentication: Password-based authentication is enabled as default and serves as the base authentication method for applications within Seamfix-IAM. This is seen on the Multi-factor Authentication tab

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) Setup

  1. Access MFA Settings: Go to the MFA Authentication Tab under the Settings > User management Settings on the side nav.

  • Add and configure applications that support SSO, ensuring they are linked to the correct IdP.
  • Define login protocol within each application.
  1. Test SSO Configuration:
  • Perform tests to ensure users can log in to all SSO-enabled applications seamlessly.
  • Troubleshoot any SSO issues such as incorrect configurations or mismatched user attributes.
