Step-by-Step Guide to Adding New Applications to the Fixiam Solution
This section provides detailed instructions for system administrators on how to add new applications to the Fixiam solution, ensuring that users can securely access them via Single Sign-On (SSO) and other authentication methods.
- Log in to the Admin Dashboard
- Navigate to the Fixiam solution's admin interface and log in using your credentials.
- Ensure you have the necessary permissions to add new applications.
- Access the Application Management Section
- From the dashboard, select the Applications tab.
- Click on Add New Application.
- Choose the Application Type: If the application is available in the pre-integrated app catalog, select it to proceed with simplified configuration. If not, choose Custom Application to configure it manually.
- Select the Authentication Method
- Choose the authentication method supported by the application (e.g., SAML, OAuth, or OpenID Connect).
- If the application requires a specific authentication protocol, select the appropriate one to proceed with configuration.
- Enter Application Details
- Provide the following key information:
- Application Name: The name that will be displayed to users.
- Description: A brief description of the application.
- URL: The applicationās URL or service endpoint.
- Configure Application Settings
- Depending on the selected authentication method, provide the following:
- SAML: Add the applicationās SAML configuration, including metadata URL, Entity ID, and SSO URL.
- OAuth/OpenID Connect: Provide the client ID, client secret, and redirect URIs for OAuth or OpenID Connect configurations.
- API Integration: For applications requiring API integration, enter API keys, and any required scopes for authorization.
- Review and Save the Configuration: Review the details you've entered to ensure everything is correct.
- Click Save to finalize the application configuration.
- The new application will now appear in the list of available apps for authorized users.
Set Access Policies
- Define access control policies: Specify which user groups or individual users can access the application.
- Test Application Integration:
- Test the integration by logging in as an authorized user and attempting to access the application using SSO or the designated authentication method.
- Confirm that access is working as expected.
- Monitor and Manage the Application: After adding the application, you can monitor user access, modify settings, or remove the application from the Application module on the dashboard.
